So, once again for our Any Other Photo, we have not only a stunning picture, but a stonker of a write up for you. I should have guessed really, because Rachel writes about beautiful quotes interspersed with pretty pictures (amongst other things) over on her blog Flowers and Stripes, so what she came up with was bound to be beautiful. And beautiful it is. Oh, and I highly recommend having the music playing as you read...
Moments before....
I'd stepped out of the bridal car with Dad to greetings from Twin and The Blessings. Everyone was now inside the church. Gordon, the vicar, had followed what had been agreed at last night's practice. Turned to Dad, who in turn then turned to me, to confirm that I was ready.
In this moment....
Gordon is composing himself for our marriage service. He is standing inside the church. Dad and I are holding hands. Outside the church. I still have my maiden name and my father is still my male next of kin. We're about to walk down the aisle to Warmth.
The moment after....
We walk in. We are now inside the church. The organ is playing Purcell's Trumpet Tune and Air. A familiar church full of family and friends, a tendency to cry at the simplest reason. The next set of photographs are too raw with emotion to share. Dad's face crumpled with emotions, both our eyes welling up and slighty overflowing. We walk slowly down the aisle and arrive at the altar. For a few moments one hand is held by my father, the other by my husband to be.
Telling myself all the time. This is the moment. Treasure each second of this service. Live it, feel it, breathe it, remember it.... forever.

Rachel - your post is amazing, so moving and takes you right to the moment. And it's so nice too to see *you*! Clare and Aisling, thank-you for asking Rachel to share. I adore this any other picture post.
What a wonderful post. Sounds like you were really able to feel "present" at your wedding, Rachel.
Oh how sweet.
Rachel, your post is lovely. You have made me even more excited about our church wedding (July this year).
I just had a sneak peak at your blog, quickly followed by a trip to amazon to buy Love in the Time of Cholera. Can't wait.
What a lovely write up, and I love the photo too. Now will have to go and check out your blog.

I just realised I never commented on this! Bad Kirsty. Sorry I'm so late - just wanted to say I thought this was absolutely lovely, and so beautifully written (of course). I feel like I am right there in the church with you. Also agree with Lucy, would love to see more of the dress!
Am now mega intimidated about my own Any Other Photo post - oh well, I shall just have to waffle on in true Kirsty style and hope nobody compares them too closely...
You are a wonderful writer.
