Betrayal of trust, in general, is probably the worst thing that can happen in a relationship. It doesn't have to be romantic either, it could be a friend's or a business partner's. I see it as a higher level of rejection.

I've been using this site for months (tweeted about it a while ago too, surprised you didn't pick up on it then as I thought it might be up your street ;)) it's fab! Sadly don't know anyone else on there yet so have just been using it to list the books I've read and get recommendations from the site based on my ratings. Now have a huge 'to read' list. I also love that you can add a goodreads gadget to your own blog to say what you're currently reading.

Thanks for all the supportive comments. I really appreciate them. I wasn't lying when I said I hesitated before sending in this photo (and write up). It's a relief that I'm not alone in how I felt on the day - though sad that other people did experience the same. I guess the moral of the tale (and I do love a good moral on a Friday) is not to sweat the small stuff and relax (just as Frankie says)

Apparently my phone has recently decided I'm not allowed to comment on AOW from it. Boo! But I have located a lab computer to sneakily comment from. Yay!

I think this is such a brilliantly frank post. Thank you, Anna, for your honesty. One of my biggest fears is that I will spend our wedding day in a haze of worry and emotional stress, so this really struck a chord. I'm glad you have truly joyful memories of your day :-)

Echoing the call for a book! And remembering, as Katielase said, describing our theme as 'wedding' to a few over enthused people after the engagement. Also the constant question of 'what are your colours?' just used to make me giggle!
I don't think my mother in law has ever forgiven me for having 'nude' bridesmaid dresses...very difficult to explain to her bemused friends! x

Thanks ladies, you always make me grin from ear-to-ear! The venue visit was beyond hilarious and I really enjoyed writing it.

This one is definitely a bit thin on the Marys. I can tell you that they are OVER. THE. MOON right now as their babywatch is over (..until it's me, but one thing at a time, eh?). My cousin who got married last summer is due in September so that's got them clucking and instilled in them the terrifying belief that if they talk about something enough it'll come true!

This is a lovely, heart-warming post, but honestly, truly what I wish someone had said before we tried to start a family was, hope for the best but be prepared for it not to work out too. We've racked up miscarriages at 15, 7 and 5 weeks and it's been incredibly tough; despite the fact we knew the odds we were still far too optimistic. I know that sounds miserable and dark, and it isn't entirely so. We're still hopeful we'll get there one day, and we're getting married later this year because we wanted a reminder that just being the two of us is wonderfully brilliant too and that we've been badass tough looking after each other, but so many people have come along, and said,'It was the same for us, it's really hard.' I wish I'd been more aware and better prepared before we started this journey.

I loved your description of the waves of love and goodwill, the most incredible thing about our engagement for me was the overwhelming outpouring of love and joy on our behalf when we told people. I was properly staggered by it. In fact throughout the whole wedding planning wotsit I've just been stunned time and again by how happy and joyful and excited people are for us.

Three months to go to our wedding and people still ask me the theme, and I still look vaguely bemused and say "the theme is..... marriage? No? Um..."

We got "of course she'll get married at the local Church and then a reception at X" from a variety of family members. Um No. Actually we were thinking of going to Italy and by the way you aren't invited.

Clearly there is always some element of comprimise. We are having 200 people in a marquee but no church. 200 people. So much for 50 closest family and friends. Feck me.

Oh I know Anna K said it was one post about the venue that's you've got coming up, but COME ON WRITE A WHOLE SERIES PLEASE!
